Chicago Steel News Release
GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Steel rookie Brendan Brisson was awarded Forward of the Week, the United States Hockey League announced Tuesday. The honor is the first of the season for Brisson.
The University of Michigan commit notched a three-point (2G, 1A) outing in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Sioux City Musketeers and picked up a helper the following afternoon in a 3-2 overtime victory to help extend Chicago's current win streak to five games.
All four of Brisson's weekend points (2G, 2A) came on the power play, giving the Manhattan Beach, Calif., native 10 power-play points (4G, 6A) this season, second-most among USHL skaters this season. Brisson has totaled 18 points (8G, 10A) in 16 games this year which has him in a share of fourth place in the USHL scoring race.
Steel General Manager Ryan Hardy has enjoyed what he has seen from the 5-foot-11, 177-pound forward so far this season.
"We are so happy to see Brendan garner this type of recognition and we're privileged to help him continue to grow his game over the course of the season and reach his full potential," said Hardy.
