GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Four players and one staff member from the Chicago Steel organization were selected to represent the United States at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge in December, USA Hockey announced Tuesday. Defenseman Luke Reid and forwards Brendan Brisson, Sean Farrell and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine will represent the Steel in the tournament set to take place in British Columbia, Canada.

Reid has picked up three helpers in 16 contests for the Steel thus far in his second season in the USHL. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman was rated as a 'B'-level prospect in NHL Central Scouting's most recent watch list on Nov. 11.

As of Nov. 19, Farrell leads the USHL in scoring with 23 points (7G, 16A) through 16 games played in his first season for the Steel. The Hopkinton, Mass., native paces Chicago with eight multi-point performances this year including three separate three-point games.

Brisson was named the USHL Forward of the Week on Tuesday after tallying two goals and two assists, all on the power play, over a pair of victories against the Sioux City Musketeers on Nov. 16 & 17. The University of Michigan commit holds the rookie scoring lead for the USHL with 18 points (8G, 10A) through 16 appearances this season.

Fontaine started the 2019-20 season by reaching the scoresheet in seven out of his first eight appearances. The forward, committed to Northeastern University, has tallied 14 points (8G, 6A) in 16 games for the Steel.
