June 13, 2016 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

It took 12 innings and a combined 13 pitchers, but the Isotopes were able to walk off over the 51s, downing Las Vegas 6-4 thanks to Tom Murphy's two-run, game-ending home run.

The Isotopes wasted no time getting on the board, putting a run across in the bottom of the first inning. Stephen Cardullo delivered a deep sacrifice fly up the hill in center to bring home Brandon Barnes. This would be the last run scored until the eighth inning.

The lack of offense was due to the fact that both teams starting pitchers has excellent games on the hill. Making his 2016 Isotopes debut, starter Carlos Hernandez tossed 6.0 shutout innings for Albuquerque.

The 51s would finally get on the board in the eighth inning, plating two against the Isotopes bullpen. Albuquerque answered right back in the bottom of the frame on Ben Paulsen's RBI single.

Tied up at 2-2 heading to the ninth, Las Vegas would go on to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the frame. The Isotopes were able to force extras after a wild pitch brought home Jeff Bianchi in the bottom of the inning.

After scoreless innings in both the 10th and 11th, the action picked up in the 12th. The 51s took a one-run lead in the top of the frame, and the Isotopes had their backs against the wall heading to the bottom half of the inning.

A single, stolen base, and error had Brandon Barnes on third base with Stephen Cardullo at the plate in the bottom of the 12th. The Isotopes tied the game after Cardullo ripped a single to left, scoring Barnes. After a Ben Paulsen flyout, an 0-for-5 Tom Murphy ended the game, crushing his seventh home run of the year to deep left-centerfield.

The game-winner marked the first walk-off home run of the season for the Isotopes.

The Isotopes now head south on I-25 to battle their division rivals, the El Paso Chihuahuas (Triple-A Padres). Left-hander Frank Garces (1-1, 3.74) will take the hill for El Paso tomorrow evening. The Isotopes have yet to announce a starter. First pitch from Southwest University Park on Monday is set for 7:05 p.m.
