Muich Goes On D.L.; Activate LaFountain

(Manchester, NH)- The Trenton Thunder, Class AA Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced on Tuesday that C Joe Muich was being placed on the Disabled List, retroactive to May 28th, with a sore right elbow. C J.T. LaFountain has been transferred onto the Thunder roster from Staten Island (R).

Muich has appeared in five games for the Thunder, going 2-for-17 (.118 BA) at the plate. He was selected by the Yankees in the 12th Round of the 2005 June Draft (Wichita State Univ.). Muich has also appeared in three games for Tampa this season, going 2-for-7.

LaFountain comes back onto the Trenton roster from Staten Island. He appeared in one game earlier this season for the Thunder, the second game of a doubleheader against Portland on May 8th. he was 0-for-1 with two walks. LaFountain batted .276, 4 HR, 24 RBI for Charleston in 2006. He was signed as a non-drafted free agent (6/22/05) out of the University of Louisville.

The Thunder begin a three-game series in Manchester, NH on Tuesday night with the New Hamsphire Fisher Cats. Game time is 6:35 PM. Jason Jones (3-3, 3.23) starts for the Thunder against New Hampshire's Kurt Isenberg (1-1, 2.52).
