Jose Coronado drove in four runs and Caleb Stewart had four hits, including a two run homer, helping the Binghamton Mets to a 12-4 victory over the New Britain Rock Cats at New Britain Stadium Tuesday. The win is Binghamton's 10th in their last 12 games.

New Britain (24-21) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third when Rashad Eldridge was hit by a Salvador Aguilar pitch, advanced to second on Felix Molina's double and scored on Trevor Plouffe's groundout.

However, the B-Mets (23-25) took the lead for good during a five-run fourth. Fernando Martinez began the frame by reaching on an error before Brett Harper extended his hit streak to 20 games with a single up the middle. Stewart drove in Martinez with a game-tying base hit to right before Jesse Floyd (3-4) walked Miguel Negron, loading the bases. Up came Coronado, who doubled off the top of the right-centerfield fence, scoring Harper, Stewart and Negron for a 4-1 B-Mets lead. After Mark Kiger reached on an error, Jose Reyes bounced into a double play that scored Coronado.

Kyle Geiger's two-run double off Aguilar (2-1) in the bottom of the fourth pulled New Britain within 5-3. Aguilar would work six innings for his second win in as many starts.

Binghamton added three more in the fifth. Harper reached with a one-out single and scored on Stewart's two-run homer to left. Later in the frame, Kiger doubled home Coronado after the latter reached on an error for an 8-3 B-Mets advantage.

Kiger walked to begin the eighth before Wilson Batista's two-run homer made it 10-3. After Matt Allegra homered off Tim McNab in the bottom of the eighth, Binghamton got two more in the ninth. Coronado's fielder's choice scored Harper and Kiger singled in Stewart.

Wednesday, the B-Mets play the second game of their three game set against the New Britain Rock Cats. Kevin Mulvey (4-4, 3.33) will start for the B-Mets against lefty Ryan Mullins (NR) of New Britain. Game time is 6:35 from New Britain Stadium with the radio broadcast starting at 6:20 on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.

Notes: Binghamton's 12 runs scored tie a season high, set in a 12-6 win 5/13 @ POR. Stewart had four hits in that game as well...the B-Mets are 9-3 on the road after starting 3-12...Allegra's homer was the first earned run allowed by McNab in his last eight appearances, spanning 17 1/3 innings...Binghamton's gotten six or more innings from their starting pitcher in six of their last 10 contest...Harper is the third player in B-Mets history to hit safely in 20 or more games, joining Jay Payton (25 - 1995) and Mike Jacobs (22 - 2005).
