ZEBULON, NC - Sean Henry singled home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth as the Carolina Mudcats won their fourth straight game 4-3 over the Mississippi Braves at Five County Stadium on Wednesday night.

After a rain delay of over 90 minutes to begin the game, Henry rolled a single to center after 2-hours and 44-minutes, giving Carolina its only lead of the night.

Mississippi (27 - 38) scored first in the third inning as Donell Linares homered off Carolina (29 -37) starter Matt Klinker in the third inning for the early 1-0 Braves advantage.

That lead grew to 2-0 in the fourth as Mauro Gomez got hit in the back to begin the inning and scored from third on a bloop single by Jesus Sucre and after four.

Carolina began the come back in the sixth when Jake Kahaulelio reached on an error to begin the inning and after a moving to second on a base hit from Sean Henry, Kahaulelio then scored on a wild pitch from Braves starter Scott Diamond, to cut the lead to a run. The Mudcats then tied the game in the seventh as Eric Eymann hit his fifth home run of the year to tie the game at two all after seven innings.

Mississippi then took the lead in the top of the eighth off Carolina reliever Jeremy Horst as Mauro Gomez doubled off the left field wall and he scored one batter later when Michael Daniel singled up the middle to give the Braves a short lived one run lead.

However, Carolina came right back with a run in the eighth as Jake Kahaulelio led off the inning with a single and after a sacrifice and a base hit pushed Kahaulelio to third, he scored on a wild pitch off the left arm of Lee Hyde and tied the game 3-3.

After Philippe Valiquette (W, 2-0) worked out of trouble in the top of the ninth, Denis Phipps walked and Eric Eymann walked to put two on with none out. Jose Castro then sacrificed the runners into scoring position, Kahaulelio walked with two outs ahead of Henry who singled up the middle to give Carolina their fourth consecutive win 4-3.

The series continues tomorrow night at 7:15 when the Mudcats send Travis Webb to the mound and the Braves counter with Erik Cordier.
