Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- Chris Dickerson singled home a pair of runs in the eighth as the Chattanooga Lookouts rallied past the Carolina Mudcats on Sunday afternoon 6-3 at Five County Stadium.
Dickerson's hit followed two walks and a wild pitch from reliever Scott Nestor to increase the Lookouts' lead to 5-2. Dickerson then scampered home later in the inning on a wild pitch.
Carolina (5-12) lead by a run twice early in the game, moving ahead 1-0 in the second on a single to right by Rex Rundgren. After Chattanooga (7-10) tied it in the third, the Mudcats nosed ahead 2-1 in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Lee Mitchell, scoring Grant Psomas from third.
Chattanooga tied the game in the sixth against starter Daniel Barone on a grounder by Enrique Cruz, then took a 3-2 lead on a solo homer by Caonabo Cosme in the seventh off of reliever Blake McGinley (L, 0-1), who was making his Carolina debut.
After Saturday night's game was halted by two bench-clearing incidents, Sunday's went off incident-free.
The Mudcats have dropped four of five and play the middle game of the series with the Lookouts Monday night at 7:15 PM ET. Gaby Hernandez (1-2, 3.31) starts against Camilo Vazquez (1-1, 2.50).
