SEVIERVILLE, TN - The BayBears were shut out for the second consecutive game Sunday, falling to Tennessee 3-0. The BayBears have now won three of the seven games on their first road trip of the season. Mark Holliman (2-1) was the winning pitcher for Tennessee Sunday, pitching eight shutout innings. Chris Henderson pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save.
Tennessee scored twice in the second inning, on a leadoff home run by Issmeal Salas and an RBI single by Holliman. Esmerling Vasquez (1-2) suffered the loss, pitching seven innings for Mobile, allowing three runs on seven hits. Emilio Bonifacio had three hits from Mobile's leadoff spot, and Javier Brito was 3-for-4 for the BayBears. Chris Rahl, Jon Zeringue and Vasquez had the other hits for Mobile.
The BayBears and Smokies play again Monday at 6:15 PM. Jonathan Castellanos (1-2) pitches for Mobile against Sean Gallagher (2-1) for Tennessee.
