Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release


BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs welcomed the Lubbock Cotton Kings to town on Friday night and the return of former defenseman Craig Minard. Both teams had a couple chances in the first period but there was no scoring.

The Bugs jumped out to a lead in the second when Jason Williamson deflected a shot from Chris Gustafson at the point. It was Williamson's first goal of the year. The Mudbugs got one more when Karlis Zirnis skated up the left wing and fed a perfect pass to Chris Brassard, who put the Bugs on top 2-0.

Ken Carroll played well, allowing only one goal in the third period as Simon Watson scored for Lubbock to make it a 2-1 game. The Mudbugs played staunch defense and held on for the victory. Bossier-Shreveport welcomes the Youngstown Steelhounds to town for a game tomorrown night, a 7:05 face off at CenturyTel Center.
