
Bucks Fall 4-2 To Ice Bats

AUSTIN, Texas - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 4-2 to the Austin Ice Bats at the Chaparral Ice Center in Austin on Friday night. The Bucks suffered their first road loss in the Southeast Division, but at 9-6-1 with 19 points they remain in first place in the division. Saturday Laredo returns home and hosts Austin. Face off set for 7:30 p.m. It's Biker Night at the LEC with the first 2,000 fans getting a Bucks license plate holder courtesy of Harley Davidson. The Ice Bats scored the only goal of the first period when forward John McNabb snapped home a shot from the slot at 4:52 during four-on-four play.
The Bucks drew even in the second frame. Defenseman Oriel McHugh teed up a big drive on a power play at 8:01 for his first of the season. The Ice Bats went back ahead just over a minute later as the Bucks gave the puck away in their own end and defenseman Terry Virtue snapped home a wrist shot high glove side for a 2-1 Austin lead at 9:14.
Early in the third period the Ice Bats made it 3-1 when forward Jason Kenyon jammed in a loose puck at 2:11. The Bucks got back in the game when forward Bobby Chaumont scored on a wrist shot at 11:54. With time winding down the Bucks pulled the goalie, but the ice Bats sealed it when McNabb scored his second of the game into the empty net at 19:50. FINAL SCORE Austin 4, Laredo 2.
Eric Marvin allowed three goals on 29 shots and fell to 4-3-1. Miguel Beaudry stopped 42 of 44 shots and improved to 4-3-4. The Bucks were 1-6 on the power play while Austin was 0-5. Laredo out shot the Ice Bats 44- 30.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
