Mt. Rushmore Giveaway Series Begins Friday

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Canaries continue the team's tradition of honoring famous South Dakotan's with this season's Mt. Rushmore Bobble Series. Beginning Friday, the Canaries will have four giveaways in honor of Mt. Rushmore. Each giveaway will feature a bobble face collectible of one of the four presidents featured on the monument.

The series kicks off this Friday, June 2, with the Abe Lincoln Bobble Giveaway presented by Schoneman's Lumber. On June 23, Crystal Ice will present the Theodore Roosevelt Bobble Giveaway. Friday, July 21 will be the Thomas Jefferson Bobble Giveaway presented by Coca-Cola. The series will wrap-up on Friday, August 19, with a George Washington Bobble Giveaway presented by American Family Insurance. 1,000 random fans will be selected on each night to receive that evening's bobble.

"There's no question that Mt. Rushmore is not only a South Dakota icon, but an American icon as well," said Canaries President John Kuhn. "To not honor the faces in some shape or form would be a major mistake and we are fortunate to be able to create what we believe to be the first-ever Mt. Rushmore Bobble-faces."

In 2005, the Canaries honored famous South Dakotan's Bob Barker, Pat O'Brien, and Mary Hart by giving away bobble-head collectibles in their likenesses. This season, in addition to the Mt. Rushmore Bobble Series, the Canaries will give away bobbles in the likeness of famous South Dakotan Catharine Bach on Dukes of Hazzard Night. The former Daisy Duke will be in attendance for the giveaway on Tuesday, August 8.
