Moulson Gets The Perfect Birthday Present, A Call From LA

MANCHESTER, NH/LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forward Matt Moulson from the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Moulson, who turned 24 today, leads the Monarchs with five goals in eight games this season and his nine points overall (5-4=9) rank third on the team. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound native of North York, Ontario, also shares the club lead with three power play goals.

Moulson led Manchester in regular season games played (77), goals (25) and plus/minus rating (plus-26) last season and he tied for the team lead with 57 points overall (25-32=57). Originally selected by Pittsburgh in the ninth-round (263rd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Moulson signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on September 1, 2006. He has not played in the NHL and he will wear jersey No. 28 with the Kings.

Prior to 2006-07, his first pro season, Moulson averaged nearly 18 goals per season during his four-year collegiate career at Cornell University where he finished with 71 goals, 33 power play goals, 138 points (71-67=138) and 106 penalty minutes in 134 career games.
