Wiikman heads to Charlotte

HARTFORD, November 1, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have loaned goaltender Miika Wiikman to their ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.

Wiikman, who is in his first year of North American pro play after three seasons in the Finnish Elite League, has appeared in two games this year for the Wolf Pack, going 1-0-0 with five goals-against on 39 shots in 70 minutes of action (4.32 GAA, 87.2% save percentage). Last year with HPK Hameenlinna in Finland, Wiikman compiled a goals-against average of 2.59 and a save percentage of 90.8 in 18 contests.

The Wolf Pack return to action tomorrow night, Friday, November 2nd, vs. Worcester at the Hartford Civic Center, and also are home this Saturday, November 3rd, vs. Toronto (both 7:05 starts).
