
Mota Placed On Temporary Inactive List; INF Giuseppe Papaccio Transferred To Tennessee

KODAK - The Chicago Cubs announced a series of transactions that impact their Double-A Tennessee Smokies roster prior to tonight's contest against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Smokies Stadium.
Infielder Jonathan Mota has been placed on the Temporary Inactive List after the birth of his child. In four games for the Smokies this year, the 26-year-old has accumulated a .143 average (2-14) with a run batted in.
In a corresponding move, infielder Giuseppe Papaccio has been transferred to Tennessee from Extended Spring Training. Selected by the Cubs in the 18thh round of last year's MLB Draft out of Seton Hall University, the 22-year-old compiled a .279 clip (39-140) with two homers and 13 RBI with Low-A Kane County.
The Smokies roster now stands at 25 in addition to RHP Jake Arrieta, who is with Tennessee on a Major League Rehab Assignment, and a revised roster is attached.
First pitch for the third contest of the five-game series between Tennessee and Chattanooga, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers is set for 7:15 p.m. ET. Right-hander Corey Black (0-0, 9.00) is slated to make his first Double-A start and second appearance for the Smokies this evening, while the Lookouts are expected to give the nod to southpaw Chris Reed (0-1, 9.00).
This evening marks the first Friday Fireworks night of the year, with fans treated to a post-game fireworks display, presented by Pepsi, Coors Light, WVLT and WIVK.
