Morey Placed on Rehab Assignment

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Birmingham Barons at Bragan Field at 7:05 p.m.

Right-handed pitcher Robert Morey has been transferred from the Suns disabled list and placed on a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Marlins. Morey was placed on the disabled list on April 24 with right biceps tendinitis, and has not pitched since. Morey had pitched in five games for the Suns, with no wins or losses and a 4.82 ERA in nine and a third innings on the mound.

The Suns roster now stands at 24 active players and a revised roster is attached.

The Suns and Barons will be back at it on Friday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The Suns will trot out right-hander Jay Rogers (2-2, 5.32) while the Barons will counter with a righty of their own in Chris Beck (3-6, 3.39).
