MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (36-36/1-1) took a 2-0 lead into the seventh inning before falling 5-3 to the Mobile BayBears (43-28/1-1) Friday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

The Biscuits rallied in the ninth inning from a three-run deficit. Taylor Motter led off with an infield single. Alejandro Segovia followed with a one out double to bring the tying run to the plate. Jeff Malm entered the game as a pinch hitter. His groundout to second brought in a run and cut the deficit to two. Jeremy Moore then came in to pinch hit. Moore worked a walk to bring up Willie Argo, the potential winning run. Caleb Fleck (5) struck out Argo to end the game.

After five and a half innings of scoreless baseball, Jake Hager finally put the Biscuits on the board with a RBI-single in the sixth inning to score Joey Rickard. Cameron Seitzer followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Biscuits a 2-0 lead.

The lead, however, was short-lived. The BayBears made it a 2-1 game with a sacrifice fly from Gerson Montilla in the seventh. Two batters later, Dustin Martin entered the game as a pinch hitter and drove in the tying run with a single. Mobile continued in the eighth inning with an RBI-double from Tom Belza to take the lead. Jake Lamb added an RBI-triple while Garrett Weber made it 5-2 Mobile with a run-scoring single.

Braden Hagens (6-3) allowed two runs (one earned) through seven innings for the win. Hagens was ultra-efficient early on, throwing 42 pitches through five innings.

The middle-game of the series is Saturday night at 6:35. RH Victor Mateo will throw against RH Charles Brewer.
