
Morales Drives In Johnson In Tenth Inning For Seventh Straight Victory

Kannapolis, NC With two outs in the bottom of the tenth and Logan Johnson at second base, Sergio Morales picked a great time for his first hit of the game. Morales singled through the middle to bring in Johnson for a 3-2 win in ten innings. The victory is the seventh straight for the Intimidators (9-3).
Kannapolis started the scoring in the first. With one out Eduardo Escobar singled. Escobar moved to third on a throwing error by the pitcher, Leandro Cespedes, on a pickoff throw. Jim Gallagher doubled home Escobar to take a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, Logan Johnson brought in Gallagher to make it 2-0 with a RBI single.
Lexington scored two runs in the third frame with a two-run home run from Brian Pellegrini off Intimidators starter Miguel Socolovich. Socolovich lasted five innings giving up two runs on five hits in a no-decision.
Santo Luis tossed three scoreless frames for the Intimidators before giving way to Leroy Hunt who threw a scoreless ninth and tenth. Hunt picked up the win (2-1).
The score stayed tied until the tenth when with two outs Johnson singled up the middle. Johnson moved to second on a wild pitch from Jordan Powell. Morales singled back through the middle which brought in Johnson. The throw from Legend's CF Steve Brown was in time but catcher Jonathan Fixler couldn?t handle it and the ball bounced away from home plate as Johnson slid across for the game winning run.
Morales finished 1-for-4 with the walk-off RBI. Johnson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a RBI and a run scored.
The Intimidators wrap up a two-game set with Lexington tomorrow night as part of a six-game homestand. Kannapolis welcomes in Lake County for four games including fireworks nights on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July to finish it the homestand.
