Halifax Mooseheads News Release
Halifax Mooseheads' General Manager Marcel Patenaude announced today that the Mooseheads have reassigned 17-year-old defensemen Ryan Matheson to Restigouche of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League.
Matheson, drafted by the Mooseheads in round 6 (101) of the QMJHL 2008 Entry draft, played four games with Halifax this season, with no points.
Matheson, along with Andrew Smith, acquired in a trade with Chicoutimi Jan. 08 will remain with Restigouche in the MJAHL until the end of the Tiger's 2008-2009 season, and will be reassigned to the Mooseheads at that time.
"We feel that the development of these two young players will be enhanced with the possibility of more ice time at the Junior A level," Patenaude said.
