Mooseheads acquire 18-year-old forward Peter-James Corsi

Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Marcel Patenaude announced today the acquisition of 18-year old forward Peter-James Corsi through a trade with the Val-d'Or Foreurs. In return the Mooseheads sent forward Justin Saulnier and their sixth round pick in the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft to the Foreurs.
Corsi, a 5'10, 186 pound centre, drafted seventh overall by the Foreurs in the 2004 QMJHL Entry Draft, has 5 goals and 18 assists for Val-d'Or in 35 games this season. He has accumulated a total of 74 points in 156 games in three seasons in the QMJHL.
"We are pleased to get Peter-James Corsi," Patenaude said. "Corsi is highly rated by our scouting staff. He was a first round draft pick in 2004 and his 19 goals and 40 points last year show he has an offensive touch. We feel he will be able to help our team."

In another transaction, Mooseheads traded forward Kirk Forrest to the Quebec Remparts for a conditional fifth round pick in 2007. In the event Forrest does not play in the QMJHL during the 2006-2007 or 2007-2008 season, the Mooseheads will return a 2008 fifth round pick to the Remparts. This trade is subject to league approval.
