
Flurry of action in first few hours of trade period

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, December 18, 2006 - A number of trades were completed in the first few hours of the first day of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League trade period.
The Fog Devils sent defenseman Daniel Whelen (89-09-02) to the Moncton Wildcats for their 5th round pick (acquired from St. John's) in the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan acquired the Foreurs' 3rd round pick in 2008 (acquired from Acadie-Bathurst) which completes the Mathieu Roy trade to Val-d'Or. The Titan also traded forward Kristopher Schmidt (88-05-02) and goaltender Maxime Gougeon (88-05-03) to the Voltigeurs for their 8th round pick in 2007 and 8th round pick in 2008.
The Voltigeurs continued their morning spree by acquiring defenseman Sébastien Bernier (87-02-06) from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for their 10th round selection in 2007 as well as their 4th round pick in 2008 (acquired from Acadie-Bathurst).
The trade period ends on Monday, January 8, at noon.
