Moose Sign Ryan McGinnis To AHL Contract

The Manitoba Moose announced today they have signed defenseman Ryan McGinnis to an American Hockey League contract.

McGinnis, 23, appeared in eight games with the Moose last season. In that span, he collected one assist and four penalty minutes. He also played in four Calder Cup playoff games with the club where he earned one assist.

McGinnis spent the majority of the 2009-10 season with Kalamazoo of the ECHL where he played 49 games. In his time with the Wings, the Flint, MI native recorded 33 points (5g & 28a) along with 67 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 17 games earlier this year with the AHL's Norfolk Admirals, where he collected three assists and 14 penalty minutes. In 52 career games in the AHL the last two seasons with Albany, Norfolk, and Manitoba, McGinnis has nine assists and 36 penalty minutes.

McGinnis was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round, 184th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
