Moose Release Cruthers from PTO

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have released forward Ryan Cruthers from his professional tryout contract.

Cruthers, 26, has appeared in 12 games with the Moose after signing his PTO on Jan. 7/11. In that span, he scored four points (3g, 1a) and collected nine penalty minutes. He scored a goal and an assist on Jan. 29/11 @ Toronto. Cruthers joined the Moose after playing 28 games this season with the ECHL's Reading Royals where he's scored 28 points (13g, 15a) and collected 26 penalty minutes. The Farmingdale, NY native was serving as captain of the Royals before being signed by the Moose. Cruthers was Reading's leading regular season (71 pts) and playoff scorer (24 pts) in 2009-10. He had previously played five professional seasons in the ECHL and the AHL. In 29 career games in the AHL with Lake Erie, Albany, Norfolk, and Manitoba he's scored seven points (3g, 4a) and recorded 21 penalty minutes.
