
Canucks Re-Assign Volpatti to Moose & Recall Oreskovich

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have re-assigned forward Aaron Volpatti to the Manitoba Moose. The Canucks have also recalled forward Victor Oreskovich.
Volpatti, 25, played in 25 games with the Moose this season before being recalled by the Vancouver Canucks on Dec. 16/10. The native of Revelstoke, B.C. played in 15 games for the Canucks, recording two points (1g, 1a) and 16 penalty minutes. He scored his first career NHL goal in his second game on Dec. 20 @ St. Louis. Before his NHL recall, Volpatti had scored six points (0g, 6a) with the Moose and recorded 44 penalty minutes. Prior to the 2010-11 season, he played four seasons at Brown University, then played eight regular season games and five playoff games with the Moose after joining the team at the end of the NCAA schedule on Mar. 26/10. Volpatti served as team captain of the Bears in his senior season at Brown University.
Oreskovich, 24, has appeared in 31 games for the Moose this season with 11 points (4g, 7a) and 27 penalty minutes. Oreskovich scored in his first game with the Moose on Oct. 8/10 @ Peoria. He recently missed 15 games with an upper body injury but recorded two assists in his first game back in the lineup on Feb. 4 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Whitby, ON native played 50 NHL games last season with the Florida Panthers in which he recorded six points (2g, 4a) and 26 penalty minutes. He has played in 65 career AHL games with Rochester and Manitoba where he has 26 points (10g, 16a) and 45 penalty minutes. Oreskovich was originally drafted by Colorado in the second round, 55th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
