Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

Monday afternoon's scheduled doubleheader between the Swing of the Quad Cities and the Clinton LumberKings has been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions caused by overnight rain. Because it was the final scheduled meeting between the two teams of the first half, the games will not be made up.

Monday was scheduled to be American Red Cross day at John O'Donnell Stadium. The tickets issued by the American Red Cross will now be honored on Labor Day, Monday, September 6. The Baseball America magazine giveaway scheduled for Monday will be moved to this Thursday, June 3, when the Swing host the Peoria Chiefs.

This is the fourth time this season that the Swing have completely lost a game off the schedule due to a postponement. The Swing will play a maximum of 31 of the 35 scheduled first-half games, and 136 of the full season 140 games.

UP NEXT: After an off day on Tuesday, the Swing begin a three-game series with the Peoria Chiefs on Wednesday night. Errol Simonitsch (3-1, 2.34) is the Swing's scheduled starter against Peoria's Jordan Pals (4-2, 3.48). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00, and pregame coverage will begin on Great Country 105 at 6:45.

PROMOTION: Wednesday night will be a 97 Rock/River Cities Reader Beverage Night at John O'Donnell Stadium, with $1.50 domestic draws and Pepsi products available from 5:30 until 8:30. It will also be 70's Night at the ballpark, and fans are encouraged to dress in their most outrageous and outlandish gear from the disco era. Jim the Mule will be performing a pregame concert on the party deck on Wednesday night.
