Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Idaho Steelheads head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Wednesday that defenseman Guillaume Monast has been recalled by the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Monast, 22, was sent to Idaho earlier this month by Texas. In four games so far this season, he has one assist and six penalty minutes. He also played last season in Idaho, finishing fifth in the ECHL last season in plus/minus rating with a plus-30 for the Steelheads.

Monast (pronounced Moan-ah) will join Texas in Rockford, Illinois, tonight in time for the Stars' game against the Ice Hogs.

Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars.

The Steelheads return home on Wednesday to host the Utah Grizzlies at Qwest Arena. It's a "Twice the Ice" week for the Steelheads - fans purchasing a ticket to Wednesday night's game can purchase a seat for Saturday night's contest between the Steelheads and Grizzlies for just $7. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Qwest Arena box office (208.331.TIXS) or visiting www.idahosteelheads.com .
