Alaska Acquires Scott Howes from Stockton

Anchorage, AK; October 27, 2010 - The Alaska Aces have acquired forward, Scott Howes from the Stockton Thunder in exchange for future considerations, Head Coach Brent Thompson announced on Wednesday. Howes will join the Aces in Las Vegas, where the club begins a five-game, road trip on Friday night. The Aces opened the season with a 3-1 record, and are currently sitting atop the Mountain Division and Western Conference. Howes, 23, is in his third pro season after spending the first two years as a member of the Victoria Salmon Kings where he played alongside current Aces star, Wes Goldie. In 86 games for Victoria, Howes had 48 points (22g, 26a). The Toronto, Ontario native moved to Stockton in the off-season where he played in one game for them this year, collecting an assist. In his rookie season, the 5'11", 190 lbs. Howes was called up to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Prior to turning pro, Howes played in QMJHL, where in his final year with the Saint John Sea Dogs, he had 70 points (42g, 28a) in 59 games. In addition to the move the Aces released forward, Justin Milo from the roster.
