LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

vs. Worcester (11/22): Rookie center Mike Ullrich scored his first American Hockey League goal, the game-winner, as the Manchester Monarchs topped the Worcester Sharks, 4-1, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Right wings Sean Backman, Brandon Kozun, and Scott Sabourin also scored for the Monarchs. Left wing Curt Gogol scored the lone goal for the Sharks. Monarchs goaltender J.F. Berube (3-2-0) earned his third win of the season stopping 22-of-23 shots. Sharks netminder Harri Sateri (3-7-0) took his seventh loss of the season making 17 saves on 21 shots. Manchester was 0-for-1 on the power play. Worcester went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

vs. Providence (11/23): Right wing Scott Sabourin picked up two tallies as the Manchester Monarchs won their fifth consecutive game against the Providence Bruins, a 3-2 victory, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. Right wing Brandon Kozun added to Sabourin's two goals to top the Bruins. Right wings Nick Johnson and Seth Griffith found the back of the net for the Bruins. Monarchs J.F. Berube (4-2- 0) earned his fourth win of the season stopping 24-of-26 shots. Bruins netminder Malcom Subban (2-5-0) took his fifth loss of the season making 33 saves on 36 shots. Manchester was 0-for-2 on the power play. Providence also went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

@ Worcester (11/24): The Manchester Monarchs collected five out of a possible six points in three games as they finished the weekend with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Worcester Sharks at the DCU Center on Sunday afternoon. Right wing Scott Sabourin scored his fourth goal in three games and rookie left wing Maxim Kitsyn tallied his first professional goal in the game. Right wing Brandon Kozun was the lone shooter to score in the shootout for Manchester. Defeseman Matt Tennyson and center Rylan Schwartztied the game for the Sharks. Right wing Dan DaSilva and right wing Sebastian Stalberg scored in the shootout for Worcester. Monarchs goaltender J.F. Berube (4-2-1) took his first shootout loss of the season stopping 29-of-31 shots and two-of-four shootout snipers. Sharks netminder Troy Grosenick (4- 2-0) earned his fourth win of the season making 18 saves on 20 shots and four-of-five shootout shots. Manchester was 0-for-3 on the power play. Worcester also went 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES

The Manchester Monarchs (13-3-1-3) are ranked first in the Atlantic Division with 30 points. The St. John's IceCaps (9-8-1-2) are in second place in the division with 21 points. The Providence Bruins (8-7-1-2) are in third place in the division with 19 points. The Portland Pirates (7-5-1-2) are ranked fourth in the division with 17 points. The Worcester Sharks (7-8-1-0) are in fifth place with 15 points.

The Monarchs are ranked 25th in the American Hockey League on the power play with 11 goals on 75 attempts. Manchester is ranked 10th in the league on the penalty kill stopping their opponent 79-of-94 times.

The Monarchs are currently on a six-game winning streak at home.

At home, the Monarchs are undefeated on Saturday games with a record of 5-0-0-0.

Manchester was defeated in their only games against the Springfield Falcons and the Hartford Wolf Pack this season, both losses coming in a shootout.

Manchester was eliminated by Springfield in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs last season: Right wing Brandon Kozun (6-12=18) leads the Monarchs with 18 points in 20 games this season.

Kozun has collected 12 points (5-7=12) in his last 12 games.

Kozun ranks in the top 10 all-time in the following Monarchs categories:

Goals - 75 - third place

Assists - 93 - sixth place

Points - 168 - tied for third place

Power Play Goals - 24 - third place

Game-Winning Goals - 17 - first place

Shots - 493 - 10th place

Center Jordan Weal (2-15=17) ranks second on the Monarchs with 17 points.

Weal is tied for third place in AHL with 15 assists.

Right wing Tyler Toffoli (7-5=12) and left wing Nick Deslauriers (6-6=12) are tied for third place on the Monarchs with 12 points each.

Toffoli has four goals and four assists for eight points in 10 games with the Los Angeles Kings. He was recalled on November 1, 2013.

Toffoli and left wing Tanner Pearson (7-4=11) lead the Monarchs with seven goals each.

Deslauriers leads Monarchs active players with six goals this season.

Deslauriers also leads the Monarchs with 39 penalty minutes.

Right wing Linden Vey (3-8=11) and Pearson are tied for fifth place on the Monarchs with 11 points each.

Vey has four assists in nine games with the Kings since being recalled on November 1, 2013.

Goaltender Martin Jones and Pearson were both recalled by the Kings on November 13, 2013.

Pearson has one point, a goal, in six games with the Kings.

Jones had a record of 9-2-2 with a 2.24 goals-against-average, a .927 save percentage and one shutout when he was recalled on Wednesday, November 13.

Jones ranks in the top 10 all-time in the following Monarchs goaltending categories:

Ties/Shootout Losses - 9 - tied for second place

Defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk (3-7=10) ranks seventh on the Monarchs with 10 points.

Bodnarchuk leads the Monarchs and is tied for fifth in the AHL with a plus/minus rating of plus-11 Weal ranks second on the Monarchs with a plus/minus rating of plus-10 Left wing Andy Andreoff (3-6=9) ranks eighth on the Monarchs with nine points.

Right wing Scott Sabourin (6-2=8) picked up his first back-to-back multi-point games as he scored a goal and collected an assist against the Sharks on Friday, November 22, and then scored two goals against the Bruins on Saturday, November 23.

Sabourin has collected six points (5-1=6) in the last five games.

Defenseman Derek Forbort, defenseman Vincent LoVerde, and Pearson are tied for third on the Monarchs with plus-8 ratings.

Right wing Zach O'Brien (0-1=1) collected his first AHL point, an assist, in his Monarchs debut against the Pirates on Friday, November 15.

Defenseman Cameron Burt (0-1=1) collected his first AHL point, an assist, in his AHL debut against the Sharks on Friday, November 22.

Rookie left wing Maxim Kitsyn (1-0=1) scored his first AHL goal against the Sharks on Sunday, November 24.

Goaltender Jean-Francios Berube is 4-1-1 in his last six starts, all consecutive games since Jones' recall to the Kings.

Berube has collected a 4-2-1 record with a 2.26 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage.

Toys For Tots Toy Drive - The Monarchs are asking fans to bring in new, unwrapped toys to donate to families in need during this holiday season. New Hampshire Marines will be on hand to collect the toys when the Monarchs host the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29.
