Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that the team has signed forward, Mark Anthoine, to a Standard Player Contract for the 2016-17 season.
Anthoine, 25, returns to Manchester after spending the final 35 games of the regular season with the Monarchs, as well as all five Kelly Cup Playoff games. Before coming to Manchester, Anthoine played in 10 games for the Evansville Icemen (ECHL). With the Monarchs, Anthoine recorded 19 points on 10 goals and nine assists, including two goals and three assists in his first two games with the team. Despite spending less than half of the year in Manchester, Anthoine was awarded the Monarchs Community Service Award for his contributions in the community and to charitable organizations off the ice.
The 5-foot-10, 194-pound forward from Lewiston, Maine, played collegiately at the University of Maine for four years, skating in 146 games, scoring 50 points on 26 goals and 24 assists. During his final season on campus, Anthoine was named an assistant captain.
In parts of three seasons since leaving Maine, Anthoine has played professionally for the Icemen, Huntsville Havoc (SPHL), Pensacola Ice Flyers (SPHL) and Monarchs, registering 49 points on 22 goals and 27 assists.
Anthoine and the Monarchs open the 2016-17 regular season Oct. 14 (7 p.m.), when they host the Adirondack Thunder for two games on Opening Weekend.
