
Monarchs Send Geisler, Miles To Reading On Loan

MANCHESTER, NH â The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have returned on loan defenseman Beau Geisler and center Jeff Miles to the Reading Royals of the ECHL and cleared left wing Petr Kanko and center Matt Ryan to play this weekend, Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced on Thursday. Geisler, 24, has two points (1-1=2) and no penalty minutes in nine games with the Monarchs this season. The 5-foot-11, 187-pound rookie out of Coleraine, Minnesota, also has 17 points (4-13=17) and 22 penalty minutes in 45 games with the Royals this season. Geisler agreed to a one-year deal with the Monarchs in September of 2004.
Miles, 23, has five points (4-1=5) and four penalty minutes in 20 games with the Monarchs this season. The 6-foot, 188-pound rookie out of Pickering, Ontario, also has 33 points (17-16=33) and six penalty minutes in 34 games with the Royals this season. Originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the ninth-round (286th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Miles agreed to a one-year deal with the Monarchs in September of 2004.
Ryan, 21, has 22 points (8-14=22) and 47 penalty minutes in 64 games with the Monarchs this season. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound rookie out of Sharon, Ontario, who agreed to a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Kings in August of 2004, has missed the last two games with a lower body injury.
Kanko, 21, has 17 points (4-13=17) and 93 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Monarchs this season. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound rookie out of Pribram, Czech Republic, was originally selected by the Kings in the third-round (66th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Kanko, who agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the Kings in June of 2003, has missed the last 15 games with a broken finger.
The Monarchs return to action when they host the Portland Pirates on Friday, March 25 at 7:35 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Single seats in the Gold level and 900 seats in the Silver level remain for Friday's game against the Pirates.
