Adirondack Phantoms News Release
Philadelphia Phantoms left wing Josh Gratton will be at the Philadelphia Zoo on Monday afternoon to help feed a female polar bear that the team adopted last month. Gratton will also be stopping by Carnivore Kingdom to feed a red panda.
On Feb. 25, the Phantoms and Philadelphia Zoo held a raffle at the Wachovia Spectrum that went towards the adoption of one of two female polar bears through the Zoo's ADOPT (Animals Depend On People Too) program. Gratton will be joined by the raffle-winning family on Monday.
Zoozapalooza is also set to take place at the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday, April 15, when the Phantoms take on the Hershey Bears. The Philadelphia Zoo's Zoo On Wheels, featuring several live animals, will be set up on the concourse along with other interactive and educational displays. The Zoo will also be selling teddy bears at the game, with the proceeds going to the Phantoms' adoption of the second female polar bear.
America's first zoo and one of the region's foremost conservation organizations, the Philadelphia Zoo is home to over 1,500 animals, many of which are rare and endangered.
