Amerks announce playoff pricing

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that individual and group tickets for their first two home Calder Cup Playoff games will go on sale on Friday, March 25th at noon. The Amerks are still awaiting their opponent for the North Division Semifinals.

Tickets will be available at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, all Kaufmann's outlets, the House of Guitars, Lakeshore Record Exchange and Ticket Express. Individual seats are priced at $20.00, $16.00 and $12.00, and can also be purchased via phone by calling Ticketmaster at (585) 232-1900. Groups of 10 or more start at $11.00 a ticket. The AHL Playoffs feature four rounds of best-of-seven hockey. The postseason includes the division semifinals, division finals, conference finals and Calder Cup Finals. The playoffs begin in mid-April and conclude in early June. The Milwaukee Admirals are the defending Calder Cup champions. Rochester lost to Milwaukee in five games in the 2004 Western Conference Finals.

Rochester (48-11-4-6) currently leads the American Hockey League with 106 points and became the first team to clinch a postseason berth on March 13th. The Amerks are also seven points away from clinching the North Division regular season title (combination of Rochester and Manitoba). In addition, Rochester needs six points to set a new single-season record for points and five victories to break the franchise mark for wins. The 1998-99 Amerks established the records for points (111) and wins (52) in a season en route to the Calder Cup Finals.

This season, the Amerks clinched their 16th straight season playoff appearance. In the past 48 seasons, Rochester has won six Calder Cups, capturing its last championship in 1996.
