LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
Vs. Springfield (4/5): A power play goal, a shorthanded goal, an empty net goal and three goals at even strength lifted the Springfield Falcons over the Manchester Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday night. Right wing Konstantin Pushkarev scored a highlight reel goal by slipping the puck between his legs and lifting it over Falcons goaltender Jonathan Boutin. Right wings Tim Jackman and Alexandre Daigle also scored for the Monarchs. The Falcons collected tallies from left wing Zdenek Blatny (2), right wing Norm Milley (2), forward Ryan Vesce and center Jason Jaspers. Monarchs goaltender Adam Hauser stopped 11-of-15 shots through the first two periods of play before being replaced by Barry Brust who made five saves. Falcons goaltender Boutin earned the win with 36 saves. Manchester went 2-for-6 on the power play. Springfield was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.
At Springfield (4/7): Four unanswered goals gave the Springfield Falcons a 7-4 win over the Manchester Monarchs in the final game of the ten game series, at the MassMutual Center on Friday night. Left wing Petr Kanko, defenseman Mark Ardelan, right wing Lauri Tukonen and center Matt Ryan scored for Manchester. The Falcons recorded goals from right wing Keith Croxton, center Jason Jaspers (2), forward Ryan Vesce, left wing David Spina (2) and defenseman Doug O'Brien. Monarchs goaltender Barry Brust made 25 saves in the loss. Falcons goaltender Gerald Coleman earned the victory with 25 saves. Manchester went 1-for-3 on the power play. Springfield was 2-for-5 with the man advantage.
Vs. Albany (4/8): Goaltender Adam Hauser stopped 35 shots for his third shutout of the season as the Manchester Monarchs blanked the Albany River Rats at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. Center Matt Ryan and left wing Noah Clarke found the back of the net for the Monarchs. River Rats goaltender Ari Ahonen made 29 saves. Manchester went 1-for-4 on the power play. Albany was 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

4/10/06 - The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) signed right wing Ryan Gibbons to an amateur tryout agreement.
4/7/06 - The Los Angeles Kings (NHL) returned defenseman Richard Petiot on loan to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL).
4/4/06 - The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) signed right wing Erick Lizon to an amateur tryout agreement.
4/4/06 - The Los Angeles Kings (NHL) returned right wing Konstantin Pushkarev on loan to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL).
MONARCHS EVENTS/PROMOTIONS
4/14/06 - Shirt Off Our Back Night - Every fan in attendance has the opportunity to win a game-worn Monarchs jersey on Friday, April 14. Fans should stop by the "Shirt Off Our Back" table behind section 107 during the Monarchs games on Wednesday, April 12 and Friday, April 14 to purchase a raffle ticket to win their favorite player's jersey. Winners will be chosen on Friday and must be present. The winners will be escorted down to the ice following the game to personally receive their jersey from the players. Proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics of New Hampshire and the Monarchs Care Foundation.
MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES
The Manchester Monarchs (41-29-3-4, 89 points) are in third place in the Atlantic Division behind the Hartford Wolf Pack (45-24-2-6, 98 points) and the Portland Pirates (50-19-5-3, 108 points).
The Monarchs clinched their fifth consecutive playoff berth with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on March 24.
Manchester and the Providence Bruins (41-29-1-5, 88 points) are in a battle for the third playoff seed in the Atlantic Division. The Monarchs have one more point than the Bruins in the standings but Providence has four games remaining on their schedule compared to Manchester's three games. The two teams match-up on Wednesday, April 12 at 7:05 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
The club has sent 25 out of their 77 games into overtime and/or a shootout this season, winning 18 out of those 25 games.
Manchester is 11-4 in shootouts and 7-3 in overtime games this season.
The Monarchs were undefeated (4-0-0-0) on Sundays at home during the 2005-06 regular season.
Manchester is undefeated (13-0-0-0) when they score five or more goals.
When the Monarchs score only two goals, the team is 0-9-0-0 on the road and 5-13-0-1 overall.
With special teams, the Monarchs power play is ranked 26th in the League, capitalizing 61 times on 438 opportunities with the man advantage. Ranked 10th in penalty killing, Manchester has given up 77 goals on 459 opportunities.
Manchester has the lowest number of penalty minutes in the AHL with 1,218 penalty minutes.
The Monarchs lead the AHL in attendance after 38 home games, averaging 8,613 fans per game.
Right wing Alexandre Daigle has 12 points (6-6=12) in 13 games since being acquired by the Monarchs on March 13 from the Houston Aeros.
Currently on a three-game point streak, Daigle has one goal and two assists for three points in the club's last three games.
Left wing Noah Clarke leads the Monarchs in scoring with 43 points (13 goals and 30 assists). Clarke is also currently on a three-game point streak with one goal and two assists for three points.
Clarke appeared in his 200th game in a Monarchs uniform on Friday, April 7 when Manchester fell to the Springfield Falcons, 7-4, at the MassMutual Center. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound native of LaVerne, California, recorded an assist in that game.
Center Matt Ryan has two goals and an assist in his last three games.
Defenseman Richard Petiot leads the Monarchs and is ranked 14th among AHL rookies with a plus/minus of plus-14.
Defenseman Marty Wilford leads Manchester's blueliners with 40 points and his 35 assists top all Monarchs.
Center Connor James is ranked third in team scoring with 16 goals and 22 assists for a total of 38 points. His 16 goals are ranked second on the Monarchs.
Right wing Konstantin Pushkarev tops the Monarchs in goal scoring with 19 tallies in his rookie season.
Right wing Petr Kanko is tied for fourth place in the AHL with four shorthanded goals on the season.
Goaltender Adam Hauser is tied for 10th place among AHL goaltenders with 22 wins, tied for fifth in the league with a 0.919 save-percentage and tied for eighth with a 2.55 goals-against-average.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Bovey, Minnesota, leads the league with a shootout record of 8-2, allowing only nine goals on 50 shots for a shootout percentage of 82-percent.
On the Monarchs all-time goaltenders list, Hauser leads the pack with 119 games played, 6944:39 minutes played, 61 wins and 15 shutouts in three seasons of play (2003-2006).
Goaltender Barry Brust is tied for 11th in the AHL with a 0.912 save-percentage.
