Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria, IL (April 10, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that the Rivermen parent club St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) has recalled right wing Jon DiSalvatore (dih-SAL-vuh-TOHR) from his loan to the Rivermen. McDonald also related that the Rivermen have released goaltender Scott Reid (REED) from his 25-game professional tryout (PTO) contract.
DiSalvatore, 25, heads to St. Louis for the fourth time this season. The 6-1, 200-pound right wing made his NHL debut with the Blues on Thursday, January 19, at Washington and has seen action in a total of five NHL games so far this season for St. Louis. At the time of his recall, DiSalvatore ranked as Peoria's leading scorer with 66 points (21 goals, 45 assists) in 69 games played. The native of Bangor, Maine, was originally chosen by the San Jose Sharks with their second selection, 104th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
Reid, 29, leaves the Rivermen after joining the squad on Thursday, March 30, under emergency conditions. In four appearances with Peoria, the 6-3, 185-pound netminder out of Grande Prairie, Alberta, compiled a record of 2-1-0, posted a goals-against average of 1.44, and recorded a save percentage of .949.
