
Monarchs Release Christiansen From Tryout

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have released forward Doug Christiansen from his professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today. In addition, Manchester signed defenseman Mike Hoffman to a professional tryout agreement
Christiansen, 28, appeared in three games with the Monarchs this season and collected 12 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, spent time with Binghamton (one game), Bridgeport (five games) and Hershey (three games) of the AHL and 63 games with the ECHL's Reading Royals during the 2005-06 season. The forward led the Royals with 35 goals and 64 points last season. Christiansen appeared in two games with the Monarchs during the 2004-05 season and collected seven penalty minutes.
Hoffman, 26, played in 54 games with Toronto Marlies during the 2005-06 season and recorded seven points (2-5=7) and 103 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 248-pound native of Weymouth, Massachusetts, spent parts of the last three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Marlies, the Cleveland Barons and the Worcester IceCats. In 127 career AHL games, Hoffman has 15 points (3-12=15) and 293 penalty minutes.
