Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of Manchester Monarchs, netted $59,000 for three area charities during their sixth annual "At Your Service" event, held at The Event Center at C.R. Sparks in Bedford, New Hampshire, on Monday night. The money raised from the event will be donated to Child Health Services, Manchester Boys & Girls Club and the Monarchs Care Foundation's Investing In Our Youth Grant Program.
"Our fans' support and generosity has made this event a success for the sixth year in a row," said Cheryl Abbott, Monarchs Vice President of Public Affairs. "The kindhearted gifts and donations from our team and local businesses made the auction special. The community continuously rallies behind this event to support our partnered charities."
A night where the hockey gloves come off and the bow ties come on, "At Your Service" annually turns a normally rugged hockey team into an accomplished wait staff eager to fulfill special requests, such as singing a song, telling a joke, doing impersonations, making surprise phone calls, posing for photos and dancing - all for charitable tips.
Silent auction items at this year's event included an evening on the air with broadcaster Ken Cail and tickets to select events at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Pottery, gift baskets and Build-A-Bears, all created by the players with their personal interests in mind, were also auctioned off to the top bidders.
In addition to mingling with their favorite hockey players, the fans attending Monday's event were also treated to a first-class dinner and a night of dancing.
The Monarchs "At Your Service" event has raised over $368,000 for local charities over the last six years.
The Monarchs return to the ice on Friday, March 23 at 7:05 p.m. when they travel to the Dunkin' Donuts Center to drop the puck with the Providence Bruins. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGIR-AM 610 and at www.monarchshockey.com. Watch the game live on B2 Networks for just $6 per game.
