CALDWELL TALLIES IN THREE STRAIGHT: Defenseman Ryan Caldwell has tallied four points (1g, 3a) in his last three outings with Syracuse. Since returning from an injury on March 9, Caldwell has registered seven points (3g, 4a) in seven games. Prior to the injury he had tallied 15 points (2g, 13a) in 40 games with the Crunch. His goal on Sunday night was his 22nd, a career high for Caldwell.
KLOUCEK GETS GOAL: Defenseman Tomas Kloucek netted his first goal this season on Saturday night against Houston, getting his first AHL goal since November 2002 (Hartford). That year Kloucek tallied three goals and four assists in 20 games with the Wolf Pack. In 55 games this season, Kloucek has 1 goal, 5 assists and 119 penalty minutes.
WALSER AND LINDSTROM RECALLED: The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Derrick Walser and left wing Joakim Lindstrom.
Walser, 28, has appeared in three games with Columbus in 2006-07 and spent parts of three seasons with the Blue Jackets from 2001-04. He has collected 6 goals, 21 assist and 56 penalty minutes in 85 career NHL games. He has also tallied 9 goals, 25 assists and 61 penalty minutes in 48 AHL games with the Crunch and Albany River Rats this season, including 33 points (9g, 24a) and 57 penalty minutes in 42 games with Syracuse. He was acquired from Carolina on November 29 in a trade that sent defenseman Mark Flood to the Hurricanes.
Lindstrom, 23, has collected one goal and two penalty minutes in five games with the Blue Jackets this season, scoring his first career NHL goal at Minnesota on December 29. Columbus' second pick, 41st overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft, he made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets last season and was scoreless in three games. The Skelleftea, Sweden native has also tallied 18 goals, 23 assists and 26 penalty minutes in 46 games with Syracuse this season and in 123 career AHL games, he has registered 36 goals, 56 assists and 78 penalty minutes.

NATIONWIDE INSURANCE COLUMBUS UPDATE: The Blue Jackets went 1-2-0-0 last week, beating Anaheim 5-4 in a shootout on Wednesday, March 14, then closing out the week with a 3-0 shutout loss to San Jose and a 5-3 loss to Los Angeles. Former Crunch defenseman Francois Beauchemin (5) scored a goal for the Ducks on Wednesday, while Nikolai Zherdev tallied twice for the Blue Jackets. Center Geoff Platt registered two goals on Saturday night against the Kings and added one assist.

TORONTO (TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS): The Crunch host the Marlies on Friday, March 23 for the seventh of eight regular season meetings between the clubs. Syracuse is 3-3-0-0 against Toronto after defeating them 8-1 on January 2 at Ricoh Coliseum. Center Erik Westrum leads all players in head-to-head scoring with six points (2g, 4a). Defenseman Ryan Caldwell leads all Crunch players in head-to-head scoring with five points (1g, 4a). Goaltender Jean-Francois Racine has appeared between the pipes five times for Toronto, posting a 3-2-0 record, a 2,54 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. ALBANY (CAROLINA HURRICANES/COLORADO AVALANCHE): Syracuse hosts Albany on Saturday, March 24 for the seventh of eight regular season meetings between the clubs. The Crunch are 2-3-1-0 against the River Rats, after losing to Albany 5-2 on March 11 at Pepsi Arena. Defenseman Derrick Walser leads all players in head-to-head scoring with eight points (3g, 5a). Center Keith Aucoin leads all Albany players with seven points (3g, 4a). Goaltender Tomas Popperle has appeared in four games for Syracuse posting a 1-3-0 record, a 3.81 goals against average and a .857 save percentage. Goaltender Tyler Weiman has appeared in four games for Hamilton, posting a 2-2-0 record, a 3.73 goals against average and a .894 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 44-41-9 against the River Rats.
ROCHESTER (BUFFALO SABRES/FLORIDA PANTHERS): On Sunday, March 25 Syracuse travels to Rochester for the ninth of 12 regular season meetings between the teams. The Crunch are 4-2-0-2 against Rochester after defeating the Amerks 7-4 on March 9 at Blue Cross Arena. Defenseman Filip Novak (2g, 8a) leads all players in head-to-head scoring with 10 points. Center Janis Sprukts leads all Rochester players with nine points (3g, 6a). Goaltender Tomas Popperle has appeared in six games against Rochester, posting a 3-2-1 record, a 2.85 goals against average and a .898 save percentage. Goaltender Adam Dennis appeared in two games, posting a 0-2-0 record, a 5.53 save percentage and a .820 goals against average. Lifetime, Syracuse is 57-70-17 against Rochester.

Labatt's Celebrity Bartending Series Concludes at Tully's Good Times: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will conclude on Tuesday, March 20 at Tully's Good Times.
Crunch players Curtis Glencross, Zenon Konopka and Trevor Frischmon will serve as celebrity bartenders at Tully's Good Times on Erie Blvd. from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20.
All tips generated by the players that night will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Full Throttle Energy Drink Crunch Puck Binocular Night Set for March 23: The Syracuse Crunch announced that their Friday, March 23 game against Toronto will be Full Throttle Energy Drink Crunch Puck Binocular Night.
For the first time in team history, the Syracuse Crunch will be giving away Crunch puck binoculars to the first 1,500 fans in attendance the night of March 23, compliments of Full Throttle Energy Drink.
