Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Zac Lynch has been assigned to the team by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL), Jonah Imoo has been loaned to the Utica Comets (AHL) and Corey McMahon has been signed as an emergency backup goaltender.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Lynch, 24, returns to the Monarchs after playing five games with the Thunderbirds where he scored one point on one goal. Before his Dec. 13 call to the AHL, Lynch played 11 games with the Monarchs and scored 10 points on four goals and six assists. Lynch is currently in his first full professional season since graduating from Robert Morris University (NCAA) in 2016. Lynch finished his career at RMU as the school's all-time scoring leader (156 pts.), and was named a Top-Ten Finalist for the 2015-16 Hobey Baker Award.

The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Pittsburgh, Pa., played seven games for the Portland Pirates (AHL) after his collegiate career was finished, where he tallied his first professional point Apr. 2 against the Hartford Wolfpack. Lynch leaves the Monarchs on a four-game point streak (3g, 4a), along with scoring a goal in his last three games.

Imoo, 22, heads back to the AHL after appearing in six games for the Monarchs where he posted a 3-2-0-1 record, a 2.98 GAA and a 0.901 save percentage. Imoo began the season with the Ontario Reign (AHL), and appeared in two games posting a 0-0-1-0 record, a 3.32 GAA and a 0.872 save percentage.

McMahon, 25, was signed as an emergency backup, and most recently played for Fitchburg State University (NCAA III).

Lynch, McMahon and the Monarchs are back in action Saturday, Jan. 14 (6 p.m.) when they host North Division rivals, the Adirondack Thunder, for in the middle game of a three-game, home-and-home series on Girl Scout Night. The Londonderry High School Marching Band will perform on the ice during the 1st intermission.

The Monarchs will host LA Kings Night on Saturday, Jan. 21 (6 p.m.), when the Elmira Jackals come to town. Tickets for the game are still available and the first 4,000 fans in SNHU Arena will receive a complimentary Tyler Toffoli bobblehead giveaway!
