WICHITA, Kan. - The Missouri Mavericks are on the road tonight to finish off three straight games against the Thunder in the "Visit Independence, Visit Wichita" Cup. The Mavericks have won two of their last three against the Thunder and are averaging almost four goals per game in those contests.

WHO: Missouri Mavericks (13-16-5) vs. Wichita Thunder (12-18-2)

WHAT: Season Game #35, Away Game #21, "Visit Independence, Visit Wichita" Cup Game 6 - presented by Visit Independence. The Mavericks are 2-3-0 in the series. The winner at the end of the season will recieve a trophy and $2,000 donated to its local youth hockey organization.

WHEN: Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 8:05 p.m.

The Mavericks are facing the Thunder tonight for the sixth of 14 meetings in this season's "Visit Independence, Visit Wichita" Cup and the fourth of six at INTRUST Bank Arena. The Mavericks fell to 2-3-0 in the season series after a 4-2 setback in Independence on January 7. The Mavericks have given up four goals to the Thunder in back-to-back games after notching their first shutout of the season (4-0) in Wichita on December 23. Overall, the Mavericks are 1-2-0 at INTRUST Bank Arena so far this season. Tonight is the Mavericks' first game back in action after a full week layoff - their longest stretch this season without a game. Wichita, meanwhile, has already logged a pair of games this week (0-2-0). After tonight, the Mavericks won't return to Wichita until March 24.

ONE-TIMER

The Mavericks have owned the third period against the Thunder this season. They have out-scored Wichita in the final frame by a combined 7-2 score over their first six meetings.
