Mallards Jersey Auction Raises $17,750 for Genesis Health Services Foundation

MOLINE, Ill. **(January 14, 2017) -* The Quad City Mallards teamed with Genesis Health System to raise $17,750 for the Genesis Health Services Foundation through a game-worn jersey auction after the Mallards' game tonight against the Fort Wayne Komets at the iWireless Center.

The special edition twentieth season mash-up jerseys worn by the Mallards tonight in a 4-3 win over the Komets went up for bid in a live auction following that contest. The jersey of Mallard defenseman Mike Monfredo went for the evening's high bid of $1,400, just edging out the jersey worn by goaltender Adam Vay, which was auctioned off for $1,300.

Over the last two decades, Mallards jersey auctions have raised well over $800,000 to benefit Genesis Health System charities. Tonight's auction is first of two for which the Mallards will team with Genesis this season. Fans will also have the chance to bid on one-of-a-kind shirts off the Mallards' backs after the Flock's Saturday, March 18 game against the Missouri Mavericks.

The Mallards return to action on home ice with a Martin Luther King Day matinee game against the Tulsa Oilers Monday afternoon at 1:05 p.m.

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including Monday's game- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
