Houston Dynamo FC News Release

Adam Moffat scored an equalizing goal in the 90th minute to lift the Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 draw with the Chicago Fire on Sunday afternoon at Toyota Park.

The Dynamo (10-8-7; 37 points) are tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference with the New England Revolution (10-9-7; 37 points. Houston is two points back of the Philadelphia Union (10-8-9; 39 points) and three points behind the three clubs in first place - the Montreal Impact (12-7-6; 42 points), New York Red Bulls (12-9-6; 42 points) and Sporting Kansas City (12-9-6; 42 points).

The Fire seized a 1-0 lead from a corner kick in the 37th minute. Mike Magee delivered the set piece into a crowd and the cross went off Houston defender Bobby Boswell and into the net for an own goal.

After pushing relentlessly for the equalizer for most of the second half, the Dynamo were rewarded moments before stoppage time.

Moffat ran down the ball near the corner and played a pass to Andrew Driver, who found Ashe on the end of the penalty area. Ashe drove toward the endline before using his heel to drop the ball in the path of Moffat on the left edge of the penalty area. Moffat used one touch before drilling a shot into the far upper corner for a dramatic tying goal.

It was Moffat's third goal of the season, a new career-high.

It was Ashe's 15th career regular season assist. He is tied with Geoff Cameron for fourth on the franchise list.

Moffat has scored Houston's last three road goals, including both goals in a 2-1 win at New England on July 13.

The one-goal deficit was possible for the Dynamo after a big afternoon from goalkeeper Tally Hall, who made seven saves, including several point blank stops in the first half on Chicago forwards Mike Magee and Chris Rolfe.

Hall's final save ensured the point on the road. Magee delivered a free kick from the right flank in the third minute of stoppage time and Jalil Anibaba met the service with a firm header toward the front post. Hall dove to his right and palmed the shot away for the vital save.

It was Boswell's 168th career regular season games with the Dynamo to tie Brian Ching for third on the franchise list.

It was Hall's 123rd career game in all competitions with the Dynamo to pass Stuart Holden for 12th on the franchise list. It was also Hall's 97th career regular season games to clear Eddie Robinson for 11th on the club list. Finally, Hall has played 8,708 career regular season minutes, passing Wade Barrett for 10th on the franchise list.

It was also Moffat's 24th regular season games this season. He has tied a career-high, set in 2010 with Columbus.

The Dynamo will travel to Columbus, Ohio tomorrow for Wednesday's game against the Columbus Crew at 6:30 p.m. CT. Houston returns to BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 8 to host the New York Red Bulls at 4 p.m. CT in a match presented by VISA.
