September 26, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. - MLS NEXT Pro announced today that the number two seed, New England Revolution II, has selected Philadelphia Union II in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. The match is set to be played at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET (Apple TV).
After a 3-1 road win against New York Red Bulls II on MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day, Union II secured a spot in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. Union II concluded the regular season with a 12-12-4 record, distinguishing themselves as the Eastern Conference's youngest squad. One of these strikes, courtesy of midfielder Jeremy Rafanello, garnered a nomination for 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Goal of the Year.
Union II is one of only two Eastern Conference teams, and one of five teams overall, to make the playoffs both seasons since the league was formed. They capped off their 2023 campaign with a three-match winning streak to earn the final postseason spot.
