Peoria Rivermen News Release

Peoria, Ill. (September 28, 2004) – Director of Ticket Sales Wendy Mitchell of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that MLS star and former Bradley University standout Tim Regan will headline the team's first-ever "Youth Soccer Night with the Peoria Rivermen" on Friday, December 3, as they take on the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena.

Regan, currently in his second season with the MLS' New York/New Jersey MetroStars and with 11 games to his credit this year, is one of just three players in Bradley Braves history to earn four all-conference awards, joining current MLS players Gavin Glinton (Dallas Burn) and Bryan Namoff (D.C. United). A 23-year-old native of Orland Hills, IL, Regan played and started a school-record 83 games for the Braves and Head Coach Jim DeRose.

All Illinois Youth Soccer organizations – including Sporting Futbol Club (SFC), the Christian Center Soccer Program, Morton Youth Soccer and the Bloomington-Normal Soccer Association – are invited and encouraged to attend.

Admission for all players is $11 per ticket and includes a Stanley Steemer Soccer Ball (regulation size). Those parents and other friends attending with the players will receive a $9 per ticket offer. The Rivermen will be donating $1 per ticket sold back to the area youth soccer team from which the child came.

The deadline for ticket purchases is Friday, October 8. With ticket orders or questions, please contact Wendy Mitchell at 309-676-1040 x107 or e-mail her at wmitchell@rivermen.net.

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Rivermen open their ninth season in the 28-team league on Friday, October 22, 2004, when they host the archrival Dayton Bombers at Carver Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Season ticket packages for 2004-2005 are available by calling the Rivermen at 309.676.1040.
