Both forwards set to make ECHL debut with Norfolk Admirals
ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Tuesday that forwards Mitchell Mueller and Mitch Vandergunst have each been called up to the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals.
Mueller has appeared in 16 games for the Dawgs, skating both as a forward and a defenseman. He has registered four goals and five assists and recorded a six-game point streak from November 3-23. The second-year pro from Bakersfield, California spent training camp with the Admirals and will be appearing in the ECHL for the first time.
Vandergunst was signed by the Rail Yard Dawgs on December 14 and has appeared in three games for Roanoke. He registered two assists and totaled 9 penalty minutes, including one fight, over the weekend with the Dawgs. Vandergunst will also appear in the ECHL for the first time.
The Rail Yard Dawgs return to the ice on Friday on the road against the Evansville Thunderbolts. Puck drop at the Ford Center is scheduled for 7:15 PM CST.
