AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Sox got another spectacular pitching performance, this time from Ryan Mitchell with a complete game, two-run performance to defeat the Grand Prairie Airhogs 5-2 on Sunday night in front of 4,046 fans at the Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium.

Mitchell (4-4) allowing only two runs off seven hits with eight strikeouts and one walk. Airhogs starter Josh Rainwater (10-4) got the loss, allowing five runs off 10 hits with five strikeouts and no walks in seven innings.

The Sox started the scoring in the first inning as Fehlandt Lentini led off with a double and scored on an Adam De La Garza RBI single for a 1-0 lead.

Grand Prairie tied the game in the second inning as David Thomas singled, stole second and third base and scored on a Jake Taylor sacrifice fly for a 1-1 score.

Amarillo took a big lead in the fifth inning as Josh Banda led off with a single. Cyle Hankerd doubled to score Banda, while Lee Cruz doubled to score Hankerd. Following a Van Pope groundout to move Cruz to third, Tim Alberts singled to score Cruz. Kevin Butler doubled down the right field line to score Alberts and end the inning with the Sox leading 5-1.
