St. Paul 7, Sioux City 3

St. Paul plated five runs in the fourth inning to reclaim the lead en route to a 7-3 win over the Sioux City Explorers. The Saints struck first in the game when SS Adam Frost hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first. Sioux City responded with three runs in the top of the second. Trailing 3-2, the Saints struck for five in the fourth inning to reclaim a 7-3 lead. In the inning, RF Argelis Nunez hit a two-run home run, DH Ole Sheldon singled in a run and LF Jason Cooper hit a two-RBI double. Frost, Cooper and Nunez all collected two hits in the game for St. Paul, and Nunez batted in three runs in the game. Saints starting pitcher Donald Brandt pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on eight hits to earn the win. Explorers 2B Brian Bistagne went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the Sioux City loss.

Gary SouthShore 5, Fargo-Moorhead 4 (12 Innings)

The Gary SouthShore RailCats needed extra innings to seal a narrow 5-4 victory against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Fargo-Moorhead took an early lead in the game. RedHawks SS Zach Penprase hit a two-RBI double in the top of the second inning to give Fargo-Moorhead a 3-0 lead. The RailCats rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. Center fielder Mike Massaro and RF Cristian Guerrero each had two RBIs in that inning for Gary SouthShore. The RedHawks tied the score with a run in the top of the ninth to send the game to extra innings. In the bottom of the twelfth, two intentional walks loaded the bases with one out. RailCats 3B Brian Kolb hit a game-winning RBI single to give Gary SouthShore the win. RailCats reliever Nolan Nicholson earned the win by pitching three scoreless innings in relief.
