Missons Fall To Midland 2-1

San Antonio Missions News Release


San Antonio - Midland took the fourth and final game of the series with a 2-1 win to even out the series against the Missions. Tonight's loss marks the second straight home loss and it's just the second time this season the Missions have lost two in a row at home.

One game after leaving 17 base runners left on base, the Missions left eight more stranded tonight. Catcher Ali Solis (2-4) scored the Missions only run tonight on a passed ball with the bases loaded.

Simon Castro pitched six scoreless innings, allowed four hits, one walk, and struck out five. The RockHounds touched the Missions bull pen for a run in the seventh and one more in the ninth to a take a 2- 1 lead.

Tuesday will be a league-wide off-day followed by the 75th Texas League All-Star Game on Wednesday at Wolff Stadium. The Missions' pitcher Casey Kelly has been named starting pitcher for the South and Doug Dascenzo will be the manager for the South.

The Missions will travel to North West Arkansas for a three game series June 30 - July 2 with the Naturals and to Tulsa for a three game series July 3 - 5 with the Drillers, before hosting North West Arkansas.
