San Antonio Missions News Release

The San Antonio Missions ended their season-long four-game home losing streak with an impressive 10-2 victory over NW Arkansas in the third and final game of their series Saturday night at Wolff Stadium.

San Antonio centerfielder Blake Tekotte ignited the Missions offense by hitting the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the first for a quick 1-0 lead. For Tekotte it was his fourth homer in the last five games.

The Naturals scored both of their runs in the third to take a 2-1 lead but it would be short-lived as the Missions answered immediately.

After an intentional walk to Jaff Decker to load the bases in the San Antonio half of the inning, third baseman Jedd Gyorko sent a 1-2 pitch from NW Arkansas starter Zach Miner over the wall in left for San Antonio's 10th grand slam of the season.

The Missions would add two more in the fourth, one in the fifth and two more in the seventh thanks to a home run from shortstop Andy Parrino to complete their scoring and avoid the sweep.

San Antonio starter Casey Kelly earned his team-best eighth victory of the season as he limited the Naturals to five hits and two runs in seven innings of work.

San Antonio improves to 10-5 in the second-half and 59-26 overall.

The Missions begin a three-game series with the Tulsa Drillers (Colorado Rockies) tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. and the first 500 kids 12 and under will receive a Henry the Puffy Taco picture courtesy of Kellogg's.
