Frisco Roughriders: Frisco Rebounds in Extras for Third Straight Win

Mike Bianucci homered on the first pitch of the 13th inning to give the RoughRiders a 3-2 win over the Arkansas Travelers in a series opener Sunday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Bianucci's home run, his team-leading 19th of the season, clinched Frisco's third win in four tries against Arkansas (47-36, 11-5) in the second half. The Travs are 10-2 against the rest of the league. The RoughRiders (49-37, 9-7) took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but Gabe Jacobo singled home a run against Tanner Scheppers to send the game into extra innings.

In extra innings, both Corey Young and Jake Brigham (4-5) posted a pair of scoreless innings. Brigham struck out four and posted his first victory out of the bullpen.

Frisco starter Robbie Erlin scattered four hits and allowed one run in seven innings of work. The Rangers' number four prospect remains unbeaten in eight career Double-A appearances.

The RoughRiders scored an unearned run in the third and fourth innings. Renny Osuna plated Davis Stoneburner on an RBI double after Stoneburner led off the third with a two-base error.

After the Travelers knotted the score in the bottom of the third, Elio Sarmiento gave the RoughRiders a 2-1 advantage on a sacrifice fly.

The 'Riders and Travs continue this three-game series Monday night at 7:10. Ben Snyder, who is tied for the team lead with six wins, takes to the mound for Frisco. Snyder will square off with fellow left-hander Trevor Reckling. Pre-game coverage along the RoughRiders Baseball Network begins at 6:40.

QUICK HITS: Engel Beltre extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single in the eighth...Beltre is now tied with Mike Bianucci for the longest hitting streak by a RoughRider this season...Frisco left-hander Martin Perez worked one inning for the World Team in the 2011 XM All-Star Futures Game Sunday and allowed one run on two hits.
