Missions Drop 2nd Straight to Hooks

June 12, 2018 - Texas League (TL) - San Antonio Missions News Release

CORPUS CHRISTI-The Hooks used four homeruns to power their way to a 6-4 win over the Missions Monday night at Whataburger Field.

Lake Bachar (0-3) surrendered three of the longballs while big leaguer Phil Maton served up the fourth.

Maton is currently on a major league rehab assignment with the Missions.

Bachar was pressed into a starting role after the club put its ace and scheduled starter, Logan Allen, on the DL earlier in the day with an ankle sprain.

Corpus Christi pulled within one game of first-place San Antonio in the South Division standings with six games left in the half.

The Missions and Hooks conclude the first half at Wolff Stadium this coming Sunday and Monday.

Fernando Tatis collected a pair of hits and walked twice for the Missions.

Next: LH Jerry Keel (4-2, 5.35) vs. RH Akeem Bostick (0-1, 2.89) 7:05 PM
