Miracle Take Opener Over Fire Frogs, 7-5 In 10

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Trevor Larnach delivered four hits to lead the Fort Myers Miracle over the Florida Fire Frogs, 7-5 in 10 innings, on Tuesday night at Osceola County Stadium.

The Miracle took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but Florida tied the game on a wild pitch by Hector Lujan. In the tenth, the Miracle scored three runs to take a commanding lead. Larnach came through with an RBI single, his fourth hit of the night. Michael Helman and David Banuelos each delivered RBI singles. Helman had three RBI and Banuelos recorded three hits in the game.

Royce Lewis got the Miracle started with a leadoff home run to open the game, his second of the season. It was the first leadoff home run this season for Fort Myers. Florida tied things up with a run in the bottom of the first.

In the fourth, Helman brought home a pair with a two-run triple. Aaron Whitefield drove in Helman with a sacrifice fly. Florida drew closer in the sixth with back-to-back home runs by William Contreras and Greyson Jenista to open the frame.

Edwar Colina started for the Miracle and allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits in six innings. He walked one and struck out seven. Johan Quezada entered with a runner on first and nobody out in the seventh and picked up a strike out and a double play grounder to get out of the inning. The 6-9 right-hander faced five batters and recorded six outs.

Lujan (2-3), after blowing his first save of the season in the ninth, remained on for the 10th inning and earned the win. Florida scored once in the 10th, but Lujan retired all three hitters he faced in the frame. Neither of the two runs charged to him was earned and he lowered his ERA to 1.72.

Sean McLaughlin (1-2) suffered the loss in relief for the Fire Frogs.

The three-game series continues on Wednesday night at Osceola County Stadium. Right-hander Blayne Enlow will start for the Miracle in his High-A debut. First pitch is 6:00 p.m. ET.
